The castle was built in 1612, and it was destroyed during World War II; the castle proper itself was not
rebuilt until 1957-59. Gary would have seen only a few of the outbuildings that survived the war,
including the southwest, two-level Hitsuji Saru Yagura (corner turret)." [Shown above]
